EMV IN BORGOGNA, FRANCIA

Our first regional Emv in France

This innovation was launched on April 29 on buses in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region

In France, people travel throughout the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region with the intercity e-ticketing system from AEP Ticketing solutions.

AEP’s project in this region had already started in 2021, with paper tickets and transport cards. Over these years, the company has worked to develop the system until April 29, 2024, which marks the start of AEP’s first regional project with EMV in France.

Contactless unit ticket payment has been installed and activated for the entire Mobigo network fleet (460 buses). It is currently operational on 350 buses running daily in the region. This work was also supported by BNP Paribas and N&TS.

“We are satisfied with the work done,” said Luigi Sassoli, Presales, Chief Solution Architect at AEP. “The example of the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region is an important novelty, because for the first time our ET-PASS solution is centralized at regional level and used by 41 transport operators: a novelty compared to traditional EMV systems which are applied at individual operator level. Our company proves once again that it has a strong technical connotation, being at the forefront of design and implementation of public transport equipment”.
